Little Hearts Toddler Program

This 5-day, half-day program is for girls who are 2-years-old by August 31.

Little Hearts can accomodate a maximum of three classes with a teacher and an assitant in each. The classrooms are spacious and the atmosphere is engaging and child-friendly. Arrival time begins at 7:30 a.m., but children are not required to be in class until 9:00 a.m. There is also an Extended Day option from Noon - 3:00 p.m.

The educational program focuses on socialization skills, language development, and physical growth. Beginning independence and self-confidence is fostered in a safe environment. In addition to circle time, story time, outside play, and free choice activities, the girls participate in art, body movement, and music activities.

Little Hearts Nursery Program

There are a maximum of three classes of sixteen children with a teacher and assistant in each. Arrival time begins at 7:30 a.m., but children are not required to be in class until 8:30 a.m. There is an Extended Day option from Noon until 3:00 p.m. Children must be toilet-trained.

The nursery program provides a stimulating environment for the girls. Activities include use of manipulative materials and games to enhance readiness skills and coordination, group experiences to promote sociability and concern for peers and the environment, and introduction to letters and numbers. Learning centers provide the setting for individual and small group instruction. The educational program includes enriching classroom activities with special instruction in religion, art, music, and physical education. Special events, visits to the school library, and field trips enhance the developmental program.

Extended Day Options

Extended Day activities include lunch, rest time, indoor activities, and outside play. Parents provide lunch.

Noon-3:00 p.m. (T/Th, M-W-F, M-F), (Wed.: 2:30 p.m.)

Little Hearts Plus
3-5:30 p.m. (2:30 - 5:30 p.m. on Wed.)
School provides an afternoon snack.

Faculty

Our faculty is comprised of teachers and administrators who love children. They are educated in child development and understand and embrace the value of early education. They are responsive, receptive, and aware of the needs of early learners, and are eager to cooperate with parents to promote each child's optimal growth and development.

Application

No testing is required for admission into Little Hearts but parents must complete an application form. Letters of admission will be mailed in early Spring. Click Here to download the Little Hearts Application Form.

In conjunction with Independent Schools of Southwest guidelines, a separate application process is required for girls who wish to attend the Academy of the Sacred Heart prekindergarten-grade 12 program.

Enrollment

Enrollment in both the Toddler and Nursery programs is limited. In order to complete enrollment, the school must receive all necessary admission documents:

• completed enrollment agreement
• certified copy of birth certificate
• current immunization record and health form (These forms will be mailed to you.)
• completed emergency form
